Ah the wonderful sound of screaming. Screaming sound effects are pretty highly sought after because it can be difficult to capture a good screaming sound on film. Sometimes the recording of screaming sounds will be distorted with a lapel microphone, or on the fiipside, not loud enough with a boom microphone. Therefore, filmmakers, producers, and video editors turn to a professionally recorded and downloadable screaming sound effect to replace the one in their source recordings. When recording screaming sound effects, there are several things to keep in mind. First, while getting the source of a screaming sound is not difficult (ie any human being willing to scream into a microphone), there is the challenge of being able to capture the power of the voice without clipping or distorting the recording and ruining the screaming sound effect. In other words, anyone can sneeze or burp, but it takes a bit of skill to not only produce a believable screaming sound but also to record it in a professional manner. It’s not rocket science, just be sure when creating a scream sfx that you keep the screaming sound clips full and strong but not clipped, and truly emotive and dramatic.
